The secret to any project’s success is in the planning. Whether it’s a single site or a roll-out across hundreds of locations, we plan every job carefully and stay involved from the first survey through to completion.

Here are some of our recent projects, covering data centre services, network infrastructure, IT relocations and field engineering, for clients ranging from a major London hotel to a national care provider.

Network Infrastructure

Fibre and Cat6A infrastructure for a major London hotel

A complete OM4 fibre and Category 6A copper cabling installation across eight floors of a major London hotel, delivering nearly 3,000 copper points.

The brief

The hotel needed a new structured cabling infrastructure to support its guest and building services, including Wi-Fi, telephony, door access, AV and CCTV, across eight floors with more than 70 guest rooms on each floor.

What we delivered

The installation was built around a resilient OM4 fibre backbone. Each floor was served by two Satellite Equipment Rooms, each with diverse fibre feeds back to the Main Equipment Room, so no single cable route could take a floor offline.

Every guest room received four Category 6A copper cables, one each for Wi-Fi, telephony, door access and AV.

Throughout the common areas, we installed cabling for CCTV, Wi-Fi and AV, bringing the total to nearly 3,000 copper points.

The result

The project was completed on time and on budget, with every service online from day one.

New store openings and remote hands for a major high street retailer

Engineering and remote hands for a major high street retail chain, setting up 120 new stores ready for trading and upgrading more than 100 existing stores from ADSL to fibre.

The brief

A major high street retail chain needed a reliable engineering partner to get new stores connected and trading, and to keep its existing stores up to date as Wi-Fi and kiosk ordering placed growing demands on the network.

What we delivered

For each new store opening, we install the data cabling for Wi-Fi and backup 5G routers, then install and bootstrap the routers to bring the service online. We connect the switches and VoIP telephony so the store is online and ready for trading.

Alongside new openings, we provide ongoing remote hands to upgrade existing stores from ADSL to fibre, giving each store the capacity it needs for Wi-Fi and kiosk ordering.

To keep every installation running smoothly, we hold and manage the network equipment stock on the client’s behalf, so all components arrive on site ready to install.

The result

So far, we have set up 120 new stores, each online and ready to trade, and delivered more than 100 upgrades to existing stores, with Nexus providing ongoing engineering support.

Wi-Fi surveys and roll-out across 200+ care and retirement properties

A two-phase Wi-Fi project for a leading national provider of retirement accommodation and residential care, from surveying every property to installing and verifying full coverage.

The brief

The client, a leading national provider of retirement accommodation and residential care with more than 200 properties across England and Wales, needed 100% Wi-Fi coverage across its properties.

What we delivered

We were involved from day one. In the first phase, we surveyed every property using AirMagnet Survey PRO to determine the location and number of access points needed for 100% coverage.

In the second phase, we installed and bootstrapped the network equipment, connected each site to the network provider, and cabled and installed all of the access points. We then confirmed every installation and its coverage with a follow-up AirMagnet survey.

Throughout the project, we held and managed all of the network stock, so equipment was delivered to site on time and cared for correctly.

The result

Completed in 2026, the project gave the client surveyed and verified Wi-Fi coverage across its properties in England and Wales.

Relocating 200+ devices to new data centres for a City of London LLP

End-to-end project management and delivery of a server relocation for a City of London LLP, moving more than 200 devices to diverse data centres over two weekends with no disruption to services.

The brief

The client needed to relocate more than 200 devices to new, diverse data centres without disrupting the services its business relies on.

What we delivered

We managed the relocation from planning through to delivery, attending the client’s planning meetings throughout.

Before the move, we carried out a full audit detailing the power and data requirements of every device, and produced a complete patching schedule to ensure connectivity at the new data centres.

Over the move weekends, we removed, packed and transported the equipment to the new sites, then unpacked, rack-mounted and fully patched every device.

The two moves, one each weekend, were completed with no disruption to services.

A 30-year relationship with a leading software company

Our team has supported a leading software company’s moves and changes since 1996, keeping staff working as office layouts change.

The brief

As the client’s office layouts change, its data services and desktop equipment need to move with them, with as little disruption to staff as possible.

What we delivered

Since 1996, our team has provided an ongoing moves and changes service, relocating data services to fit the client’s changing office layouts.

When staff move, we decommission their desktop devices, pack them and move them to each user’s new location, then recommission everything ready for use.

We also provide first business day support, so any issues are resolved as staff settle into their new space.

The result

Thirty years on, the relationship continues, with our team still supporting the client’s moves and changes.
